Porkka has welcomed a new addition to the team as Antti Saajos has joined us as Procurement Manager. Originally from Nokia, Finland, Antti brings solid experience in purchasing and procurement, having worked in the field for around seven years. Along the way, he also gained experience in product marketing, but his interest in procurement eventually brought him back to familiar territory.
Antti holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from an English-language degree programme and is currently completing his MBA studies in Jyväskylä. Moving from the AV and IT sector to the manufacturing industry has introduced him to a new operating environment with plenty of new things to learn.
At Porkka, Antti is responsible for leading procurement, managing international operational purchasing and developing procurement processes. What motivates him most in his work is solving problems and finding new ways to improve the way things are done. Just as important are great colleagues and a positive working atmosphere.
Above all, Antti is looking forward to a positive and collaborative spirit in his new role and team.
“I’m looking forward to working with a positive mindset and a great team spirit. It’s rewarding to solve challenges together, and collaboration can be just as much about working side by side as it is about conversations around the coffee table”, says Antti.
Antti describes positivity and enthusiasm for new things as some of his key strengths. He enjoys planning and seeing the bigger picture, while also leaving room for spontaneity. After all, not everything has to go exactly according to the original plan. His curiosity also extends to different cultures and cuisines, and he enjoys trying new things with an open mind.
Outside work, Antti enjoys swimming and sauna all year round. He also follows both Finnish and international football and likes to stay active in various other ways.
And one thing you might not immediately guess about our new Procurement Manager? Antti is a huge fan of pickles and even made his own for the first time this autumn!
