Porkka, a manufacturer of professional refrigeration equipment, is strengthening the development of its sales and digital business by appointing Hanna Reinikka as its Ecommerce Manager.
Reinikka started in the role at the beginning of March. Her responsibilities focus especially on developing the company’s ecommerce business and accelerating growth.
– It is exciting to bring together long-established manufacturing industry and modern digital business. My work is centered on Porkka’s ecommerce operations and accelerating their growth, says Reinikka.
In addition to ecommerce, sales responsibility also includes pharmaceutical storage solutions
Reinikka joined Porkka in search of new kinds of challenges and, at the same time, a more clearly defined work role. In her previous positions, she has worked with consumer business, marketing, sales, and online projects.
– In my previous job, the areas of responsibility expanded quickly. My desk covered sales, marketing, customer service, and web development projects. Now it is great to be able to focus more on developing sales and marketing,” Reinikka says.
At Porkka, in addition to digital solutions, Reinikka will also be responsible for refrigeration equipment for healthcare and research, such as pharmaceutical storage cabinets, as well as distributed products such as Liebherr medical and laboratory equipment.
The goal is to make sales work easier with AI and digital solutions – the online store is expected to launch later this year
A key focus in Reinikka’s work is the digitalization of sales processes.
– At the moment, many things are still done very manually. We want to make that easier by using digital tools and artificial intelligence, Reinikka explains.
According to Reinikka, AI tools are already partly in use within the company, but their wider adoption still requires encouragement and stronger skills.
– Many people are thinking about how AI could be used in their own work. We are still learning, but there are a lot of opportunities.
According to Reinikka, the goal of developing e-commerce is not to replace traditional sales work, but to support it.
– I believe ecommerce should support our salespeople, not replace them. It can serve as a knowledge bank, a tool for sales, and a channel for customers who want to handle things online.
One of the first concrete goals is to establish an online store. Reinikka describes this year’s target cautiously.
– A cautious target is that by the end of the year, we would have the first version of the online store in place.
According to her, the aim is to build smooth online customer encounters that meet the requirements of industrial business and also support supply chain efficiency.
Developing ecommerce is also inteded to support international growth
In the longer term, the development of ecommerce is also meant to support internationalization. According to Reinikka, in healthcare solutions, for example in pharmaceutical storage and laboratory equipment, there are plans to conduct market mapping in new countries, which are also expected to offer growth opportunities.
In marketing, she wants to highlight Porkka’s Finnish origin, quality, serviceability and spare parts availability more strongly than before.
– We could communicate our customer promises even more clearly. Long lifetime, serviceability, and the good availability of spare parts are major factors on the industrial side.
The role also has a local dimension. Reinikka is originally from Ylöjärvi, and Porkka has long been familiar to her.
– There used to be a discount goods store next to Huurre when I was a child, and I visited there often, so that is really where my memories of Porkka begin, she says.
In her free time, Reinikka enjoys jogging and aqua running. She also does volunteer work, for example in her child’s ice hockey team and in the parents’ association of the daycare center.
